Virtual reality films can be a good way for educators to teach empathy.
An award winning VR film shot for the United Nations, Clouds Over Sidra follows the life of a twelve year old girl living in the Za’atari Refugee Camp in Jordan. Over 80,000 Syrian refugees — half of them children — live here.
This 360 degree VR film provides a window into her life at school and at play.
Clouds Over Sidra was created as part of the United Nations Secretary-General’s challenge to build resilience in vulnerable communities. The goal was to generate greater empathy and new perspectives on people living in conditions of great vulnerability.
